Originally established as Steep and Cheap in the early 90’s the store quickly became established as the Snowboard store in Queenstown offering great product and service.

In 2000 S & C became Alta. In the late 90’s and early to mid 2,000’s Alta was voted top Snowboard retailer in NZ.

Our philosophy on the brands we stock is to choose the best brands (not necessarily the biggest) and stock pretty much their full range. In the brands we stock you probably wont find another store in the country that has more selection of that brand than we do. If you want to know about any product, the best trails or anything then just ask – we love to help.
